eVent® Fabrics fabric: A fabric that offers unrivaled comfort:

• eVent® is an exclusive waterproof/breathable membrane fabric. Like all waterproof/breathable membranes, its micro-fine pores allow the passage of water vapour, but not liquid. There are a number of waterproof and breathable fabrics, all with different characteristics. Traditionally, waterproof/breathable PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) membranes clogged easily with body oils, rendering them unusable after little use. The solution was to add a PU backing to protect the PTFE membrane. When sufficiently thin, PU still allows vapor transmission, but at a much lower rate. Some manufacturers have avoided the membrane and simply used a PU coating. The PU needs to be relatively thick to provide sufficient waterproofing, which results in even lower breathability. The genius behind eVent was to make the membrane oleophobic (oil repellent), meaning it wouldn't clog with oils, so didn't need the inhibiting PU layer. At this point, eVent® is the most breathable (20,000mm) waterproof fabric we know. It is breathable enough that a pressure gradient can force air through it. We use eVent in this way as a purge valve at the bottom of our eVac dry bags and eVent compression bags.

IKON is presented with Soft-Tech, a high-tech microfiber that allows a perfect fit on the saddle and comfort thanks to its pleasant soft touch. Soft-Tech fabric is treated with Sani-Foam, an innovative antimicrobial technology that inhibits the growth of microorganisms. The foam is TRS2, the innovative perforated foam, with 3mm holes, which guarantees better breathability and quick drying. Finally, the pad uses LSAT technology, a special blend of foams that absorb more than 80% of vibrations generated by the roads.
